Crafted by Van Buren, a heritage maker dating to 1861, this authentic Icelandic sheepskin brings the raw beauty of the Nordic landscape into the home.

Icelandic sheep are prized for their extraordinary dual-coated fleece long, wispy outer hairs layered over a dense, beautifully soft undercoat. The result is an exceptionally plush, flowing texture with natural volume and a subtle sheen.

Each hide is completely undyed, allowing its one-of-a-kind coloring to remain untouched. Rich chocolate, warm espresso and copper-toned variations make every piece naturally unique.

Generously sized at approximately 90–100 cm, with a signature 10–15 cm long pile, it can be draped effortlessly over an armchair or bench, layered at the bedside, or styled as a luxurious accent rug.

To ensure you enjoy your Icelandic sheepskin for decades, follow these essential care tips:

 Regularly shake or beat the skin outdoors to remove dust and restore its signature wild volume. Use a dedicated wool comb to keep the long fibers loose and prevent felting. If placed in dry environments (such as homes with underfloor heating), occasionally mist the wool lightly with water to keep the leather backing supple.

Do not machine wash or submerge in water, as moisture can cause the leather backing to dry, shrink, or crack. Spot clean only. Avoid placing in direct, harsh sunlight to maintain the beautiful, rich integrity of the natural brown hues.
